Exploring St. George: Top Paved Trails for Outdoor Enthusiasts





With the weather starting to cool down, it's the best time to get outside and enjoy the fresh air before the wintery chill air makes it's way down to Southern Utah. And what better way to gat fresh air then using some of trails here in St. George that are open to the public for walking, running, and biking. Most of the paved trails here in St. George can be used by all ages and are very accessible. Here are only a few out of many trails to chose from to show you some of the beauty that St. George area has to offer.



  1. The Mayor's Loop (5.2 mi - easy)

A very popularloop trail in St. George. It gives great sights of the river, city, and buildings on that side of town. There are bathrooms, benches, and picnic areas along the trail which make it a great spot for families to visit.

  1. Snow Canyon Trail (7.6 mi - moderate)

Being probably the msot popular paved trail in St. George due to the fact that it goes through our State park, it doesn't disapoints with the views along the way. It might seem a little long but that's because it continues outside the park going in different directions of your choosing.

  1. Halfway Wash Trail (1.9 mi - easy)

This trail is located in the northern part of St. George and takes you through a private park connecting residences and commercial locations. It has road bridges to go through and many exit points to the road if ever needed.

  1. Lava Flow Trail (2.4 mi - easy)

This is another popular trail that takes you through one of the many lava rock fields in the Santa Clara area. The trail connects to many locations such as the Santa Clara libary, Snow Canyon Middle & High school, Harmons Grocery Store, Gubler Baseball fields, and Lava Ridge Intermediate school.

  1. Sand Hollow WashTrail (0.9 mi - easy)

Starging at Sand Hollow Aquatic Center, this trail takes you in front of Snow Canyon Middle & High school, into a well maintained dirt bike park, and into the residential areas. This trail is easy enough to complete but still gives you a view pleasent.
